ZEAL goes to Poland!

After several years of planning, Matt finally made it over to Poland to kick off a new collaborative project on freshwater copepod diversity. The project brings together taxonomists, ecologists, and physiologists to study the determinants of thermal limits in these communities.

Over the course of a couple weeks, the team sampled copepods from a range of habitats across Northwestern Poland. Thermal limits were measured for all of the species collected. Specimens are currently being measured for size and species identifications are being verified. The final data set will provide exciting insights into how thermal limits vary within and across communities.
